National Seminar on "Ballistics: A Multidisciplinary Physical Science & 32nd Convention of Orissa Physical Society provides National forum for presentation of original research findings, as well as exchange and dissemination of innovative, practical development experiences in different fields of Ballistics and Physical Sciences. Ballistics relates to various aspects of Defence System of India covering the fields like Weapon System, Internal ballistics, External ballistics, Terminal ballistics, Wound ballistics, Rocket ballistics and more.

About Fakir Mohan University

Fakir Mohan University came into existence on 11th July 1999 at Vyasa Vihar and has remained as the symbol of glory and prosperity for the people of Balasore and Bhadrak districts of Odisha. The university is 3 KM and 15 KM away from the Balasore city and Chandipur on Sea respectively. There are seven regular advanced post graduate departments in the University offering MA and M.Sc. courses in specialized subjects,as well as M.Phil and Ph. D. programmes. Due to having very unique subjects the University stands apart from other Universities of the Country. About the Department of Applied Physics and Ballistics

The Department of Applied Physics and Ballistics was established in the year 2007 as a regular Post Graduate Department of Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, Orissa.This Department offers the course like M.Sc in Applied Physics and Ballistics having a strength of 16 with two Special Papers like Ballistics and Electronics, M.Sc (Physics) of strength 16 with electronics special paper and M.Phil in Physics of strength 10. The uniqueness of the Department is that it is the first and only Post Graduate Department under a general State University, all over the country, introducing a course like Ballistics. It focuses on various Research Fields like Condensed Matter Physics, Material Science (Nano Technology), Nuclear physics, Ballistics, Electronics and Computational Physics.
